The Aegean Business Class Lounge sticks with the surrounding earth tones of the Greek landscape. White marble and navy blue accent walls cut from glass are complemented by tan, wood accents. The space feels modern, clean, and tranquil making for a perfect relaxing break before continuing your journey.
The lounge is quite large at 1200 square meters and can easily accommodate hundreds of visitors. It never felt crowded in this lounge as people spread out amongst the various areas, which include places to relax, work, and eat. Charging ports and outlets are readily available in all areas and wifi is complimentary.
The lounge has plenty of areas to sit down and enjoy a bite to eat. It was never too crowded and plenty of tables were always available. With hi-tops, booths by the windows, and traditional tables, there were plenty of options to fit your mood and party size. The dining areas were immaculate and staff kept up the pace to keep the space spotless.
Plenty of drink options are on tap at the Aegean lounge. There is a full service bar if you wish to savor a cocktail. However, if you are looking for included options, multiple stations are available with self-serve soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, and tea.
It was late morning when we visited this lounge and so we were treated to the breakfast buffet. However, some lunch items were already starting to come out such as pre-made sandwiches along with a selection of meats and cheeses. But, most of the offering was still focused on breakfast with hot food on tap. Fruit jars, yogurt, and pastries rounded out the available food choices. Overall the food was good quality and the staff kept rotating the selection to keep it fresh.
Athens International Airport is a bustling hub that feels a bit small for the traffic going through it and tends to get crowded. So, if you happen to be flying business class on Star Alliance, definitely check out the Aegean Business Lounge. The 3rd level location will get you away from the crowds and transport you to a tranquil world complete with comfortable seating, good food, and a wide selection of refreshments.
